One assembly drawing, free

Send us a STEP file of one sub-assembly. We send back one drawing of it, an exploded view or an assembled view, so you can set it beside the drawings in your own manual and judge for yourself. No charge, and no account. To see a whole manual first, open the example.

What to send, and what comes back

  1. Send one sub-assembly. Give us your email above and reply to ours with a STEP file of one sub-assembly (or IGES or BREP) attached, or a link to it; or email hello@lineplate.com directly. A few parts to a few hundred is ideal: something you'd show on one page of your manual.
  2. Say what it's for. A line on where the drawing would go (a printed manual, a web page, a spares list) and which view you'd like. If you're not sure, we'll draw an exploded view.
  3. We send back one drawing. We reply within 1 working day, usually with the drawing: vector PDF and SVG, plus PNG, in line art or with the parts in colour.
  4. Nothing to pay. There's no charge and nothing to sign up to. If you want the rest drawn, we quote a fixed price; if not, that's the end of it.

What we draw, and what stays with you

  • We draw what your CAD model shows: its parts and where they sit.
  • We don't check, verify or approve the design or its safety, and we don't write instruction text or safety warnings.
  • We make no claim that the drawing, or a manual it goes into, meets any regulation or standard.

Your file

  • We use it only to make your drawing, and never share it.
  • We delete it, and our working copies, 30 days after we last hear from you.
  • If you need a non-disclosure agreement first, send it with your request. We'll read it and reply before you send the file.

After the free drawing

If you want the rest drawn, we draw whole sets at fixed prices, from £150. Or make them yourself in the studio, in your browser: free for drawings of up to 250 parts, and the file never leaves your computer.
